Former franchise owner of over 240 Sprint and uBreakiFix locations brings the nation’s fastest-growing electronics franchise to Kansas City
PayMore Stores, the one of its kind cash for electronics retail concept, and the nation’s fastest-growing electronics franchise, proudly announces a nine-unit deal in Kansas City with seasoned electronics and wireless franchisee Paul Kushnir.
Paul Kushnir, the newest PayMore franchisee, brings a dynamic background with nearly 30 years’ experience in the wireless industry. Born in Ukraine, he and his brother immigrated to Canada in 1980 when Paul was 6 and his brother was 13. They later moved to Kansas City in 1993. Their entrepreneurial journey began with building one of the most dominant players in cellular accessory distribution, with over 2,000 stores selling their products. After selling the business in 2005, they started opening Sprint locations, quickly expanding to become the nation’s largest dealer with 230 stores. During that time, they also started a phone repair business called Phone Medic, that evolved into a partnership with uBreakiFix. To accelerate growth, they appointed CEO Christine Ricci and became one of uBreakiFix’s most successful franchisees, growing to 17 stores in four states. After selling both businesses in 2021, Kushnir was ready for the next big thing, leading him to PayMore.
Considering his vast experience in franchises and consumer electronics, Kushnir expressed his search for a unique business opportunity. PayMore grabbed his attention due to its innovative model, offering a fresh approach in the market with no direct competition and promising performance.
“Once I started learning more about PayMore and chatting with other franchisees, one thing that really caught my attention was the incredible results they’re achieving – combined with no direct competition, it was a perfect fit for me,” Kushnir explained. “Another unique aspect of the model is the ability for franchisees to set their own prices. That’s a major advantage and addresses a common pain point with other franchise models.”
Kushnir is thrilled to have joined the brand at such an early stage, as it presents an opportunity to establish a significant presence in Kansas City, a market he states is ideal for this model. He intends to concentrate on the Overland Park and Northland areas for his initial locations and aims to have two locations open this year, with an additional two to three openings slated for next year.
PayMore operates as a hybrid business, combining an online e-commerce platform with a physical brick-and-mortar store. Their products include smartphones, gaming systems, tablets, and other tech gadgets. Through a secure and environmentally friendly approach to buying, selling, and trading electronics, PayMore has become a preferred choice for a diverse range of prospective multi-unit franchisees, such as uBreakiFix, Domino’s, Little Caesar’s, Tim Horton’s, and Firehouse Sub owners for a variety of reasons. The brand prides themselves on a combination of strong unit economics, the ability to capture customers in all stages of the buying cycle, and a sustainable business model.
PayMore, partnered with franchise development company Fransmart is growing rapidly with nearly 250 units in development, and actively seeking franchisees for other prime territories nationwide. For more information on becoming a PayMore franchisee, please visit https://fransmart.com/brands/paymore.
