Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken announced an area development agreement for the state of Tennessee that extensively increases franchise expansion opportunities. Area development representative, Fred Fordin, has committed to opening a minimum of 15 Rise locations throughout Tennessee over the next five years, and already has two locations up and running.

“The State of Tennessee is lacking in breakfast options in the fast casual space, and I felt Rise was the perfect concept to bring to the area,” says franchisee Fred Fordin. “Rise is a homerun in any environment. Even with the decrease in tourism, the locals still want their chicken biscuit delivered right to their home.”

His two locations in Nashville and Germantown, Tennessee, have managed to maintain momentum and growth through the COVID-19 pandemic. This is due, in part, to the Rise rebranding initiative that was led by Rise Founder Tom Ferguson.

“I realized the future of [quick-service restaurants] was moving towards online orders and delivery, so we leaned into technology and online ordering,” says Ferguson. “We implemented these changes in all of our franchise locations by the end of February 2020, so we were in good condition when the pandemic hit.”

Recently named to QSR magazine’s 40/40 List for 2021: America’s Hottest Startup Fast Casuals, Rise is partnered with Fransmart, the industry-leading franchise development company behind household brands like Five Guys Burgers & Fries and The Halal Guys, as its exclusive franchising partner to grow the brand.

“With prime real-estate availability, attractive lease options and a protocol to convert existing units quickly and inexpensively, now more than ever is the time to invest in a brand like Rise,” says Dan Rowe, CEO of Fransmart.
