Mike Whinnie is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Fransmart, a global leader in franchise development. Mike is a multifaceted and visionary leader with 20+ years of experience helping complex organizations drive strategic, financial, and operational objectives to streamline processes and grow revenue. His expertise lies in strategic financial planning and analysis, forecasting and financial modeling (including scenario planning to guide decision making), data analytics and merger/acquisition process. At Fransmart, Mike is responsible for evaluating the financial health and opportunity of new and emerging brands in the company’s exclusive franchise brand portfolio, and providing strategic financial guidance that drives franchise growth. Prior to joining Fransmart, Mike served as the CFO for Sauce Pizza and Wine, a 17-unit fast casual Italian chain, growing the business and leading it through a successful sale process. Mike has also held high level financial roles with highly recognized corporations, like P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, and PetSmart, helping to develop high performance finance teams and leveraging technology for increased business performance. Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Penn State University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Arizona State University.
