Konala Doubles Down on Growth with Multi-State Corporate Expansion

By Lynnea Rogers
June 26, 2025

Healthy fast-food franchise to add company-owned stores as national growth accelerates

Konala, the fast-growing healthy fast-food franchise, is expanding its corporate footprint across state lines with two newly secured locations in key Western markets. Following recent multi-unit franchise deals in Utah, Montana, and New Jersey, the brand is doubling down on growth through both franchising and corporate development.

The company has signed LOIs for:

  • 1028 N Hamilton, Spokane, WA – A showcase end-cap location directly across from Gonzaga University’s basketball stadium, featuring a drive-thru and sub-2,000 sq. ft. footprint. The building, owned by NBA legend John Stockton, positions Konala to capitalize on late-night student traffic and the university’s massive sports presence. Target opening: January 2026.
  • Kiley Ranch, Spanish Springs, NV – Located in the fast-growing Reno suburb of Spanish Springs, this corporate store will anchor Phase 1 of the Kiley Ranch Shops. Delivery is expected Q2 2027, continuing Konala’s strategy of securing top-tier suburban and commuter market real estate. Konala is also in discussions for a freestanding build-to-suit location in South Reno, projected for delivery in Q2 2026.

These corporate stores reflect Konala’s long-term strategy of growing both with franchisees and through company-owned locations — using each corporate build to refine operations, validate new formats, and showcase the brand.

“The response to Konala has exceeded even our most optimistic expectations,” said Trace Miller, Founder and CEO. “We believe so strongly in the model that we’re continuing to invest in it ourselves. These corporate stores allow us to test, learn, and push the brand forward — while also showing franchisees what’s possible.”

Konala’s corporate growth supports a long-term vision to blend operational excellence with intentional real estate placement. Corporate locations serve as live testing grounds for new products, processes, and technology while building brand equity in priority markets.

As Konala grows, real estate groups across the country have taken notice. Developers and brokers in major metros are actively reaching out with prime sites tailored to Konala’s model. One standout: Sacramento, Miller’s hometown, where multiple high-visibility locations have become available. While the team would love to see a franchisee step into this territory and take advantage of the opportunity, a corporate location is also being considered.

The brand, which features a streamlined menu of protein bowls and salads, continues to gain traction with both customers and franchisees. Its compact, modular footprint and low-labor model are designed for today’s real estate and labor landscape — making it a standout in the fast casual category.

As Konala scales, it remains committed to balancing franchise growth with corporate store ownership, ensuring alignment across brand standards, guest experience, and performance.

Ideal franchisees are experienced operators or health-conscious entrepreneurs ready to grow an innovative, scalable brand. Franchise inquiries can be submitted online at https://konalafranchise.com.
