Our Story

“Fast-casual” is a familiar concept for burritos, salads, poké, and now—however improbable—Low Country Boil, one of the signature dishes of the Georgia and South Carolina coasts. Low Country Boil is traditionally served as a communal meal, inviting people to gather around a large picnic table, roll up their sleeves and dive into a large pile of scrumptious shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. Savannah Seafood Shack takes their innovative spin on traditional meal by serving it as a single-person portion bag with the option of having peeled and deveined shrimp for a mess-free meal in a matter of minutes! Savannah Seafood Shack does a brisk business; order at a counter and your meal will be delivered swiftly to your table. The customers keep coming back—and for good reason.

Christine Tsoi Cutlip, founder and CEO, is a first-generation Chinese-American born in New York City and raised in Savannah, Georgia. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and started out her career in Marketing. Savannah Seafood Shack evolved from Christine’s family owning fresh seafood markets in Savannah. Customers eagerly lined up for the piping hot seafood and crispy fried platters with the only complaint being there was nowhere to sit. As far as the Savannah Seafood Shack is concerned, it’s just that simple—making mouth-watering seafood dishes easily accessible… ANYWHERE in the world! Her restaurant has become a Savannah staple and a destination for visitors from all over the world.

Savannah Seafood Shack has been featured on Food Network, Cooking Channel, and Travel Channel. Ali Khan, host on Cooking Channel’s ‘Cheap Eats’ excitingly exclaims “He dove in for a taste of the sea with a Low Country Boil that might be one of his best dinner deals yet,” and “An honest to God killer seafood shack with Cheap Eats prices up and down the menu,” according to the Cooking Channel website.
