For investors looking to create generational, life-changing wealth, franchising may be the key. Educating potential business owners on that possibility is the basis of the new podcast series “Smart Franchising with Fransmart,” being launched today by Fransmart, the leading franchise development firm in the country.
The podcast’s first guest, industry legend Greg Flynn, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Flynn Group LP, the world’s largest operator of quick-service food franchises, exemplifies the potential of franchising, said podcast host Dan Rowe, Fransmart CEO and Founder.

Flynn Group LP operates thousands of restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including Applebee’s, Arby’s, Taco Bell, Panera, Pizza Hut and Wendy’s. In late 2023, the company expanded into its first new category since its 1999 founding, acquiring Planet Fitness Gym locations.
The first season of “Smart Franchising with Fransmart” will consist of 10 episodes that will be released every Tuesday through June 4. Season 1 guests will include:
- Don Fox, Former CEO of Firehouse Subs, discussing his 50 years in the restaurant industry.
- Scott Redler, Co-Founder of the Kansas-based fast-casual restaurant concept Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and a 45-year industry veteran.
- Bill Gellert, Managing Director of the Gellert Global Group, partner of Gellfam Management Corporation, and a member of the Franchise Advisory Councils for both Cinnabon and Five Guys.
