What is the franchise fee — and is there a discount for multi-unit deals?
The initial franchise fee is $120,000 for your first 3 restaurants (minimum deal size). After that, each additional restaurant is $20,000 per unit.
Do I need restaurant experience to qualify?
If you haven’t opened and operated or been a part of operating multiple high-volume restaurants/QSR’s/Fast Casuals, you’ll need to hire an experienced operating partner.
We recommend someone who has:
- Opened 3+ restaurants
- Promoted 3+ managers to GM

This is how top operators set themselves up for long-term success. What matters most is your commitment to building the business and your belief in the brand. If you’re unsure about any of the requirements, we’re happy to talk through them — just fill out an inquiry form and we’ll be in touch.
What kind of support does Konala provide?
We offer comprehensive training, site selection assistance, operational playbooks, marketing support, and ongoing coaching from a team that’s built national brands before.
What is provided as part of the Konala franchise program?
Franchise owners and their managers will spend 12 days at our flagship location in Idaho for comprehensive training on the Konala franchise model, both in the classroom and on the job. When it’s time for the Grand Opening, our team will travel to your location for five days, to make sure you are calm, confident, and excited when you open your doors to your community. Owners will have access to the streamlined, simplified Konala Confidential Operations Manual for daily operations. Our team is available to assist you when you need us. We are always just a call or click away.
How much will the Konala franchise program cost me?
The estimated initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $428,500
to $750,500 for a single unit drive-thru end cap conversion. This includes a $40,000 initial franchise fee. Please inquire to receive our FDD and learn more about start-up costs. Ask us about our incentive for veterans. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.
Is financing available?
We are SBA loan approved and have great connections with financing partners.
What are the benefits of investing in an emerging brand vs. an established brand?
With Konala, you’re not just betting on potential — you’re stepping into a brand that’s already proven itself in multiple communities with strong unit economics to back it up. As an emerging brand, there’s still plenty of white space and curiosity in the market — but unlike a true startup, Konala has the traction, leadership, and numbers that give early franchisees confidence. You’re not just opening a restaurant — you’re helping lead a movement that’s redefining what fast food can be.
Why did you call the brand Konala?
Konala represents a combination of the names of Trace and Jammie’s two dogs – Kona and Nala. The Konala brand wants to change the world by offering quick and convenient healthier food options that will represent ‘taste’, ‘healthy’ and ‘fast’. As far as the dogs’ names, it just means we are as much a friendly brand as we are a healthy one! We happily offer a healthy chicken treat to dogs brought in by their owners on certain occasions, making it an extra special surprise!
Do you offer discounts to Veterans?
Yes! Franchisees who are honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to pay a reduced initial franchise fee of $30,000 (representing a 25% discount off our standard $40,000 initial franchise fee) for the first Konala Restaurant.
Who needs to attend training?
We require both the owner and the operating partner to attend full initial training — no exceptions. This ensures coverage in case of turnover and sets you up to scale properly. If your manager is already hired, they should attend too — the more trained leaders, the better.
